Realistically speaking, learning how to trade is not something you can figure out in a day, month, or even a year. I even bet that the process will be longer if youâre trying to do it independently, without following structured lessons or proven training.Â
Â
Due to this, many trading courses are popping out of nowhere. đ
Today weâll be reviewing one of the most promising ones, The Day Trading Academy, and ultimately answer whether itâs a complete scam or the investment of a lifetime.Â
Let me start by saying that the market is not an easy beast to tame. It changes almost every minute, making it quite difficult to predict.Â
While it may not be a walk in the park, itâs still possible to forecast it as long as you are well guided and equipped with relevant skills in analyzing economic conditions.
This study even highlighted that predicting the trend is possible depending on the variables and economic considerations.Â
It would be best to consider whether you have what it takes to understand the market before diving in. If not, trust me when I say that you are simply gambling your time and hard-earned money.
As I have advocated on this blog time and time again, you must understand why I warn my readers about trading. â ïžđš
 Â
Itâs easy to become excited at the possibility of making it big in the industry, but without the right mindset, some might fall for different psychological traps.
In this sense, paying someone to help you navigate the storm sounds like the best plan out there. This is why a plethora of trading courses, consultations, and group sessions have been developed with the main aim of helping people earn from their investments.
However, choosing the best trading course or school is also not an easy task. As a general rule, you must review the following before enrolling in one:
- Check the companyâs legitimacy by looking at recent lawsuits.
- Review the main features and content and check the experiences of other people regarding the topics.
- You also have to take into consideration the price of the service. After all, just because the price is steep does not mean that the company offers high-quality lessons.
- It would help if you also considered how the learning would take place. Will it be entirely online, or will the service also be done in actual classrooms?
- Identify the trading courseâs target market to see whether it is suitable for complete beginners or actual traders.
Â
As you have probably known, one of the most popular trading courses goes by the name Day Trading Academy (DTA).Â
Not to be confused with Online Day Trading Academy, DTA is best known for its leveling approach to teaching. This approach is geared toward making sure that you understand the basics before moving up to another phase until you become a pro.
easily the best way to make money online!
If you are seriously considering this, then let me congratulate you for taking the time to do your research. I understand that you are here because you want to have a complete idea about this program before making your deal.Â
With that being said, I will share with you what I have found out about this education company to help you out. At this juncture, let us start by getting to know the man behind the company, Mr. Marcello Arrambide.
Â
Who is Marcello Arrambide?
This day trader turned entrepreneur (education entrepreneur) holds a degree in general business administration and management from the University of Tampa under his belt.Â
He is originally from Merida, Venezuela, and is one of the most famous personalities in trading and blogging.
Marcello Arrambide built a solid fan base by being featured on some of the most prominent sites like Entrepreneur, Huffingtonpost, BBC, and Paste.
As reflected by the numerous articles about him, most people find his story quite relatable and inspiring.Â
Before the establishment of Day Trading Academy in 2010, he was able to find a niche of his own by starting his Wandering Trader blog in 2009.Â
This fantastic blog deals with how one can embrace the digital nomad life and still finance that lifestyle through trading.
As of writing, I checked the websiteâs Alexa ranking, and it seems the hierarchy itself is somewhat fluctuating for the last 90 days: The highest ranking is at 652,196, while its lowest is today at 1,193,397.Â
Â
For a blog, that ranking makes it one of the strongest in the industry. â
While it may have lesser page view visitors as of writing, the average time that readers spend on his blog is on an exceptional metric (average is about an hour and 30 minutes).
In 2018, he also co-founded SpeedUp Trader, the state-of-the-art trading platform where interested users can pay $120 and begin trading a capital worth $250,000!Â
As you can see, Marcello is a game-changer in the market, which is what attracts people towards his trading and traveling lifestyle.
Speaking of people, he has a considerable following, and here are the current number of his social media accounts â Facebook 18K followers, a whopping 109K followers on Instagram, and 115K followers on Twitter.
Â
What is Day Trading Academy all about?
Marketed with the words success, wealth, and freedom, the Day Trading Academy was founded by Marcello with the hopes of helping aspiring traders know about the risks, the tricks, and the ways by which one can avoid losing money in the market.Â
Â
It is an educational solution that teaches about trading. đ
Judging by their YouTube videos, Marcello kept on reminding people that the academy does not intend to spoon-feed their customers on when to buy, hold, and sell.Â
Instead, their professional team of seasoned traders helps students understand the foundational basics and the DTAâs congressive (conservative + aggressive) trading system to learn how to apply their own strategies and trade confidently and effectively.
As stated on their website, the DTA is an international group of traders who develop learning courses and materials to help inspire and motivate traders to become more accountable and knowledgeable towards their market positions and decisions.Â
I like the educational platform because it doesnât have any upsells and only focuses on one service, the training. đ
Â
The Day Trading Academy training program lasts for a minimum of three months, but depending on the studentsâ grasp of the system, it may stretch a little bit longer.Â
This is why the curriculum follows four possible levels of traders â beginners, intermediate, advanced, and pro. Without going through the beginning phase, you cannot move on to the following stage.Â
Â
From the way I see it, the company seems to put a premium on accountability. đ
Itâs easy to layout all the lessons, but this platform wants to ensure that they receive the proper training they deserve. With this, I can comfortably say I consider it a good bang for oneâs buck.
Â
The 4-stage training curriculum of Day Trading Academy
These things are perfect opportunities for personal and professional growth. Honestly, after reviewing different courses for some time now, this one is the most promising since it reflects that DTA is not all about the money.
They are mainly there to focus on educating people.
As stated above, the curriculum is divided into four phases. These phases are structured in this way to provide a more fluid progression of the lessons and training.
Â
Beginner (7 chapters)
The first phase is perfect for learning about the foundational concepts of day trading. Here the 19 chapters will provide you with information on the technical analysis, psychology, and the marketâs terminologies.
Â
Intermediate (4 chapters)
This is where the actual bulk of the lesson starts. In this stage, you will have authentic experiences in trading and dealing with current market shifts and patterns through the simulations and indicators prepared by the Day Trading Academy.
The main modules and software you will use on this part are NinjaTrader and Data Feed modules.
Â
Advanced (4 chapters)
With your newfound knowledge of the foundation and the market, the trading lessons will now officially commence.
You will get to learn about the congressional trading strategy for the advanced stage through classes such as direction prediction, trading setups, and legacy trades.
Â
Pro (4 chapters)
Lastly, the live market stage. In this part, the students will be tasked to master and apply their concepts learned from the first few modules.Â
The four lessons will deal with the trade order matrix, marker review, trading techniques, and the final review and trades submission.
Note:Â You cannot proceed with the next module without passing the checkpoint exercises after each stage.Â
There are also instances where students will be asked to send in their market charts for the coaches to see and check the patterns.
Â
The learning modes of Day Trading Academy
The DTA training is a combination of online and offline learning.
They have two-day live weekly trading courses followed by review classes. Students will have the opportunity to listen and train together about the concepts discussed and the current market conditions.
If you fail to attend, the life events will be available for recap through the recorded links made available on the membersâ page.
Â
How much is the training under the Day Trading Academy?
The exact figure for the day trading academy is dependent on the studentâs investing/trading experience, knowledge, and level of training needed until mastery.
Based on DTAâs handbook guide, the industry average to start day trading is roughly between $5000 â $7000. However, do note that not everyone interested can join the academy right away.
Based on their comprehensive teaching approach, they only allow a limited number of students each training to ensure quality education is delivered.
If you are genuinely interested, I suggest that you email them at support@thedaytradingacademy.com or call 1-800-645-6349 (USA) to get a quicker response.
Â
Is the Day Trading Academy a scam?
The Day Trading Academy is not a scam. â
It is a legitimate company backed by outstanding day traders in the field. Its educational approach is superb compared to other trading courses available online.Â
Additionally, DTAâs marketing does not use fraudulent pictures of âtrading wins.â Instead, they capitalize on supporting aspiring traders.
The major downside for me is that their website does not provide actual costing for the training. I appreciate that they included the range of expected tuition, but it makes me question their criteria for giving the exact prices.Â
Â
But at the same time, the possibility of recovering your tuition quickly (given the range on the site) is not a far-fetched idea.
Â
How I make a living online (and how you too can!)Â
Now that we have answered whether the Day Trading Academy is a scam or not, you might be wondering if there are any suitable alternatives that you should go after.Â
My answer to that is yes, and with this in mind, I would love to introduce you to the very same business model to whom I owe my success.Â
Without it, I wouldnât be where I am today, nor would I have the time to devote myself to the things Iâm passionate about. Affiliate marketing has truly changed my life, and I genuinely believe it can do the same for you too.Â
Please consider that I was just an average guy (still am) who finally happened to come across a legitimate business model upon getting scammed dozens of times in the past.Â
Now I make a full-time income working from home, and it would be my pleasure to show you how you can get started, and hopefully, help you save you a few thousand dollars along the way.Â
Â
So, this is how AM works in a nutshell. đ
Your partner up with various companies from around the world, grab the unique affiliate links they share with you and use them to promote their products and services online so you get paid everytime someone buys through you.Â
It truly is a one-of-a-kind evergreen business model, and the fact that it has stuck from 1989 until today speaks for itself.Â
As with any other business model, affiliate marketing is far from perfect, but at the same time, thereâs no denying that the positives comfortably outweigh the negatives by a ton.Â
As you might have guessed, Iâm an affiliate marketer myself, and here are my top ten reasons why I think you should consider becoming one too:Â
- Itâs set to explode in the upcoming few years.Â
- More than half of the sites you see online are affiliate sites.Â
- Compared to other business models, AM has a low-startup cost.Â
- $1.37 per day is all you need to get started.Â
- AM is considered a low-risk-high-return investment.Â
- 2 out of 3 online earners are affiliates.Â
- Itâs a performance-based business model.Â
- It becomes passive with time.Â
- It doesnât require any previous expertise.Â
- Anyone can do it, including yourself! (see a list of success stories) đ
Â
Just before I share the same platform with you that I got started with, let me just give you a heads up and tell you that AM doesnât have an established schedule, routine, or guidance, unlike traditional jobs.Â
As an affiliate, you are self-employed, meaning that it requires a great deal of self-discipline and that youâre the only one accountable for yourself.Â
Thatâs the beauty of it, but simultaneously, it can be your downfall, bearing in mind that most people tend to get easily carried off and demotivated by the distractions coming from the home.Â
You may have even heard that itâs a competitive field, but that shouldnât worry you because thatâs a clear sign that thereâs money to be made.
I can almost guarantee that youâll pass the competition without any difficulties if you stick to my gameplan and follow the tips, tricks, and advice Iâll share with you along the way. Â
I believe now would be the perfect time to invite you to join me and thousands of other like-minded affiliates inside the platform that gave me the knowledge to get you on this page and have you read my Day Trading Academy review. đ€©
Â
That alone is a clear sign that the blueprint and all the training modules taught inside work, and I would be delighted to have you as the newest member of our thriving companionship.Â
In the past ten years or so, Wealthy Affiliate has been the leading educational platform for everyone looking to dive into this prosperous industry. Up to date, they have nearly two million active members.Â
Itâs one of those rare platforms that offer beginners a great way to start a thriving affiliate marketing business without a significant investment.Â
They give you the much-needed pieces of training, tools, and support for you to finally be able to free yourself from the 9-5 rat race and the chance to build a career on something youâre passionate about.Â
Itâs only for those that insist on the best and have the patience and required work ethic to succeed in this wicked online world.Â
So, if youâre a self-starter, Wealthy Affiliate can be a great starting point for you and the community, and I can undoubtedly help you make a good income, but only if you work hard and follow the advice of the people that have done it before you.Â
I wish I had found this platform sooner in my career. That discovery probably would have saved me tons of money when I think about it.Â
WA deals with an exceptional freemium membership model that makes it possible for you to test out the platform without actually paying a dime.Â
As is reasonable, it comes with some limitations, but that shouldnât bother you since it will still give you plenty of time to decide whether such a career is one worthy of pursuing or not.Â
You get access to the platformsâ first few lessons and have a chance to chat with some of the worldâs top affiliates and see what they have to say about their journey and experiences.Â
Itâs time for me to end this review, so hopefully, I did a great job answering whether the Day Trading Academy is a scam or not.Â
If you have any questions or simply want to share your opinion with me about any of the platforms I discussed, you can do so by leaving a comment down below. đ
Do you have a support system in Australia? Thanks.
I wouldnât know. Iâm not from Australia.
I can understand how people can get caught up in the thrill of day trading and trying to get rich quickly. It seems like the most important things are worth spending more time on with anything in life.
I am relatively new to affiliate marketing, but I agree that it is a better, less risky endeavor than day trading. That is fascinating to know that 2 out of 3 online earners are affiliates. A growing field indeed!
I think it has to do with the fact that trading, in general, has been trending lately. So many âgurusâ are spending thousands on ads that itâs almost impossible for beginners not to get tempted to give it a try.
I hope you break even real soon, and please feel free to reach out to me if thereâs some way I can help.
This is a great review. I have to agree, trading is not something that can be learned within a reasonable amount of time, and itâs tough to know on your own unless youâre a tech guru.
I never got into day trading myself. That takes a lot of time and dedication and requires someone to sit in front of their computer all day and be able to hit that buy/sell button once the fluctuation is in your favor.
I know many people who do this, but they say itâs literally a day job, and you canât get distracted. Distraction can cost you thousands.
Iâd much rather have a residual income plan, as you mentioned with affiliate marketing. Again though, most people donât understand that this takes time as well.
Itâs building a business online. Itâs not just an âOh, Iâm going to post a blog, and Iâll make money tomorrowâ type of deal.
No, it takes a long time to build your customer base, for people to trust you enough even to want to buy from you, and only THEN do you have a successful business.
However, once you get to that point, then your blogs can make you money for years just because people still see them online ten years down the road.
A tremendous potential empire, but again, the building is complex for most people, and many want to quit before theyâre even successful.
Thanks for sharing this!
Katrina
I couldnât have said it better. Impatience is what screws most people as they have been fed with get-rich-type of schemes for way too long, making them believe that they can make money online just like that.
Iâve said it time and time again, building an online business is the same as any other business. It takes time, and most of all, a lot of hard work and persistence.
The online world offers benefits that seem unimaginable in the real one, but you can only reap the rewards if you put in the effort and dedicate yourself fully.
I have one word for you â patience.
Hi, and thank you for sharing an article covering two of my interests, finances/trading, and digital marketing. I have always been interested in taking the whole step and start trading but havenât had the guts yet.
The information about DTA and Marcello Arrambide is inspiring and exciting and makes me want to research him and his products.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started with your own business and, at the same time, enjoy your favorite interests. I have been doing affiliate marketing for one year and also wish I had discovered it earlier.
Now it has become one of my favorite hobbies.
Wealthy Affiliate has been my source of education as well, and their classes are excellent, and the methods they teach provide results when done according to the curriculum.
I would highly recommend starting via Wealthy Affiliate. It will give a solid foundation to build a lasting business online.
Always a blessing to see a WA member on my blog. I very much hope that things are going well for you and that one day your hobby becomes a full-time career job. Feel free to reach out to me inside WA cause Iâd be more than happy to help you out.
Some nice starter tips on doing your homework. Iâve taken a couple of these courses over the years and have learned to dig as much as possible before you commit. No excuses these days, really with so much available info online.
From your review, I wasnât able to pick up any sort of stand-out USP for these guys. Stage by stage training by quality professionals, but Iâd still be asking myself, âwhy themâ?
How are they better than their competitors? It may be just me, of course, but Iâd be interested in your thoughts.
All the best â Jason.
It really just depends on what youâre after.
There are different courses with different price ranges for different types of learners. It doesnât matter which one you choose as long as itâs legit and offers the things youâre looking for.
There are so many high-quality education centers nowadays. Each course has its beauties and beasts, making it a bit challenging for me to give you a precise answer.
Thank you so much for this incredibly insightful article, Gorjan!
I have always been interested in trading, though I admittedly have not yet jumped into it due to my lack of experience and high-level volatility in the field (I have heard numerous trading horror stories. Haha).
I have heard of the Day Trading Academy platform, and based on your review and my independent research, it seems as if DTA has the trader in mind.
As you so brilliant mentioned, the DTA team wants us to be responsible and hold ourselves accountable for our learning.
We canât access higher-level courses without first completing the lower-level studies.
There are checkpoint tests to ensure that we understand the critical aspects of trading. The coaches will oversee our charts to make sure that weâre on the right track.
I love the fact that DTA truly wants you to succeed. I will check it out!
Great read! Yah (God) bless you!
The numerous horror stories are what kept me from pursuing a career in trading too. I thought that Iâd have a better chance of succeeding if I tried âmy luckâ in other fields, which proved to be true.
God bless you too, Emma. I wish you all the best.
